DIGIFEST 2023

PAPATŪĀNUKU

Create, Connect & Celebrate
Te Manawa 29th June - 6th July 2023

Welcome to DigiFest 2023

The Manawatū DigiFest is a STEM Festival for learners across the Manawatū. We inspire learners to create, connect and celebrate learning within Digital Technologies and e-Learning. The overarching kaupapa for 2023 is Papatūānuku.

You can make connections with Papatūānuku by observing the taiao (the world), our environment and its interconnectedness. Māramataka, kaitiakitanga, tūrangawaewae and whakapapa are some areas which we might be able to explore. Check out https://maatauranga.co.nz/index.html

The Manawatū DigiFest is a STEM festival, an EXPO. You and your students will need to think about how they can SHOWCASE their learning in a way so that other people can view, enjoy and understand the learning. Think about how you might present your learning - will it be a digital artefact (like a movie, a game, an app, a website, a presentation?). Will it be something hands-on (like a cardboard box challenge, a model of something, a maths concept, a science concept?). Will it be a display? Or will it be something that people can interact with?

There will be up to 100 spaces available in the main hall. Each school can enter up to 3 of their best exhibits. Schools may like to run their own in-school festival to help select the top three and showcase everyone’s efforts. Teachers please coordinate within your school and have ONE TEACHER as a contact for the entry details.
